Trikha Shah

I am a foreign trained dentist with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from India, currently working as a dental assistant in the United States. My journey in dentistry has been shaped by a strong commitment to patient care, continuous learning, and personal growth. Through both my academic training and clinical experience, I have developed a solid foundation in general dentistry and a deep appreciation for compassionate, patient centered care.

During my dental education, I gained hands-on experience in a wide range of clinical procedures, including restorative treatments, extractions, and endodontic procedures. My internship further strengthened my clinical skills and improved my ability to manage patients efficiently in a high-volume setting. These experiences helped me build confidence, adaptability, and attention to detail qualities that I continue to refine in my professional journey.

After moving to the United States, I began working as a dental assistant, where I have been exposed to advanced technologies such as digital radiography, CBCT imaging, and intraoral scanning. Assisting in procedures like crown preparations, implant placements, and root canal treatments has enhanced my understanding of modern dental practices and strengthened my ability to work collaboratively within a clinical team. This transition has also broadened my perspective on patient communication, infection control protocols, and the standards of care in the U.S. healthcare system.

In addition to my dental background, I pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH), which expanded my understanding of community health, disease prevention, and the broader impact of oral health on overall well-being. This has allowed me to view dentistry not only as a clinical profession but also as a means to serve communities and promote preventive care.

Beyond academics and clinical work, I have a deep interest in music and have received training in Indian classical vocal music and harmonium. Recently, I resumed training in folk chorus singing, which has helped me develop discipline, focus, and confidence. These experiences have contributed to my personal growth and ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.

I am now seeking admission to an advanced standing dental program to further refine my clinical skills and integrate my previous training with U.S. dental education. My goal is to become a skilled and compassionate dentist who can provide high quality care while continuously learning and evolving in the field.
