Recent News from CODA on Operative Dentistry, Cariology, and Biomaterials Advanced Education Programs Accreditation Process:

At its 2025 Summer Meeting, the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) approved the circulation of the proposed Accreditation Standards for Advanced Dental Education Programs in Operative Dentistry, Cariology, and Biomaterials (ODC&B). These standards will be open for review and comment by the communities of interest for one (1) year, with final consideration scheduled for CODA’s Summer 2026 meeting.

This milestone represents the significant efforts of the Advanced Operative Educators Alliance (AOEA) over the past several months, along with the dedication of the CODA Ad Hoc Committee, whose collaborative work ensured steady progress in advancing these standards. The deadline for submitting comments through CODA’s online portal is June 1, 2026.
