Marwa Elsharksai

Graduating from high school in 2000 with excellent grades, Marwa Elsharkasi embarked on her journey in the field of dentistry by joining the Benghazi University Faculty of Dentistry in Benghazi, Libya. In 2006, she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Dentistry, graduating second among approximately one hundred students. Her outstanding performance earned her a position as a teaching assistant in the Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics department from January 2008 to May 2012. Driven by a passion for furthering her education, Marwa applied to the Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) program in Operative Dentistry at Indiana University School of Dentistry. She commenced the program in June 2012 and, to enhance her teaching experience, worked as a teaching assistant in the Restorative Dentistry department, assisting first-year dental students. Marwa consistently maintained a high GPA. Upon completing her master's degree in Operative Dentistry in 2015, Marwa returned to Libya, where she secured a full-time faculty position at Benghazi University and a part-time faculty role at the Libyan International Medical University. Her responsibilities include teaching undergraduate students and supervising them in clinical settings. Additionally, Marwa practices as a specialist dentist at El-Amal Private Practice Center and manages her own patients in private practice as a specialist in operative dentistry. Currently, Marwa is pursuing a PhD in Dental Science at Indiana University School of Dentistry. Alongside her doctoral studies, she serves as a part-time clinical instructor, guiding DDS students in their clinical practice.
