Bert Vasconcellos

Dr. Vasconcellos is Dr. Clifford M. Sturdevant Distinguished Professor of the Division of Operative Dentistry at the University of North Carolina, Adams School of Dentistry. He is also the Director of the Operative Dentistry Predoctoral and Graduate Programs of Operative Dentistry & Biomaterials at UNC.

Dr. Vasconcellos earned his MS in Prosthodontics and PhD in Operative Dentistry from the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil, in 1999 and 2001, respectively. In 2016, he completed a two-year postdoctoral training in Operative Dentistry at UNC. He has been teaching Operative Dentistry for over 25 years, including didactic and clinical instruction at the predoctoral and graduate level. He has published extensively, focusing on Restorative Dentistry. His current research interests are focused primarily on resin-based materials and Biomechanics.
