Dr. A.C. Liles, III, D.D.S., A.E.G.D., is an Associate Professor of Clinical Comprehensive Dentistry at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) School of Dentistry in New Orleans, where he also serves as the Director of Operative Dentistry and Chair of the Curriculum Committee. A proud alumnus of the LSU School of Dentistry, Dr. Liles earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1992 and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in 1993. With over two decades of experience in private practice, Dr. Liles transitioned to a full-time academic role in 2017. He has since held several leadership roles within LSUHSC and LSUSD, including President of the General Faculty Assembly, Faculty Senate Representative, and APAC Committee member. Dr. Liles has also served on the LSUHSC Chancellor’s Search Committee and the Student Discipline Committee. A dedicated educator, Dr. Liles is the Course Director for multiple core operative dentistry courses, including DENT 1103 Fundamentals of Operative Dentistry and DENT 3105 Advanced Clinical Operative Dentistry. He has been instrumental in faculty calibration and curriculum modernization and has contributed significantly to the training of both predoctoral and international dental students. His scholarly interests include dental adhesives, clinical evaluation of restorative materials, and innovations in dental education. He is a member of numerous professional organizations and honor societies, including the American Dental Association, American College of Dentists, Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the International College of Dentists. Dr. Liles is a strong advocate for student success, faculty development, and service to the profession. His passion for dentistry, combined with a commitment to innovation, collaboration, and mentorship, continues to influence the next generation of dental professionals.
